Going to the Beach!!

Saturday, May 17th, 2008

Well, this will probably be my last post for a week because i am headed to Panama City Beach, FL! Laci and I are headed down south with Chris and Beth and Mack and Meredith! Plan to go snorkling at shell island, catch big fish and do nothing while eating and watching Enchanted every night from 5-7. If you try to call and we don’t answer it is because we are all jet lagged as we are driving 10 hrs and we are 1 hour behind there. So, sorry for not answering the call… in fact i think florida made a state wide rule… no cell phones. So we’ll catch up when i get back!

So i thought i could dance.

A couple of years ago i was in Japan and met some guys that were unbelievable break dancers. So i thought… hey i’m going to give that a shot. So… for the next hour the guys were teaching me some stuff. Needless to say, i didn’t quit my job to go on the road or to film “you got served.”

Right after that second picture was taken, i fell on my head. But hey, it was fun while it lasted.

Loop Love

Thursday, May 8th, 2008

So, this song is every programers dream. This past sunday Chris Brown and Aaron Robertson led worship… no really… The place was about to explode. Chris sang “to know your name” by Hillsong with just Aaron on the computer and keys. The loop Aaron created was sick by itself, but when you add in Chris Brown vocals and a sick live solo by Aaron, the place rocked. At our other campus, Mack Brock and Nathan rocked it out as well. We had a names of God video playing in the bkgnd from highwayvideo.com. Here is a preview of the song…

Philippians 2:20-21

Wednesday, May 7th, 2008

Philippians 2:20-21 is such an amazing word about how we need to love and care for the people around us. Elevation Church truly lives out this verse. In Philippians2:20-21, Paul is writing about sending Timothy to the church at Philippi. He says this about Timothy in verse 20-21, “he takes a genuine interest in your welfare. For everyone looks out for his own interests, but not those of Jesus Christ.” I encourage all of you to take valuable time to take genuine interest in the welfare of the people around you!

Secret Blessing

Saturday, May 3rd, 2008

So today, Mack and I went to MOE’s after helping some friends move in to their apartment. We were super excited about drinking a lot of sweet tea. We went through the line talking and ordering not really paying attention to anything that was going on around us. Mack gets up to the register first and the lady starts ringing our meal up together. I say to her, “mam, my meal is separate.” To which she replies, ” no the gentleman in front of you guys left money to pay for your meals!” Mack and I looked around to see who it was but there was no one to be found. God is awesome. He has blessed all of us with so many amazing people. So… if you are reading this, and you paid for our meal… thanks! You don’t know how much of a blessing it was.

The Journey is Part of the Gift…

Thursday, May 1st, 2008

This past summer i was blown away by something my father shared with me. While in africa, the missionary there told him a story of a man he saw walking down the side of the street carrying something precious. As the missionary drove by him in a car, he decided to stop and offer the man a ride. The man walking down the street (who appeared to be exhausted) declined the offer for a ride. Confused, the missionary asked him again to make sure he understood. Once again, the man declined. Intrigued, the missionary asked the man why he didn’t want a ride… the man replied with something that was life changing. He said, “I am headed to a wedding many miles away and I am taking this gift. What you don’t understand is that the journey is part of the gift.”

So many times we get caught up in looking toward things in the future that we often miss out on the blessings of life that happen a long the way.

Do me a favor would you?… Take a look around at all the amazing things God is at work doing around you. Then jump in a be a part of the blessing. You never know… God may be using you to be that blessing for someone.
